General description:
The pharmaceutical company Pepscan Systems B.V. is operational since 1999. Pepscan has 25 employees including 11 technicians, and 10 PhD’s. The company has evolved from the Departement of Molecular Recognition of the Institute for Animal Science & Health in Lelystad. Pepscan’s activities are primarily focused on biomolecular interactions involving biologically important proteins as a lead to novel drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics.
Pepscan’s technology is based on more than 20 years of expertise in the mapping of protein-protein interactions by means of combinatorial synthesis (miniaturised parallel synthesis) of large peptide libraries. The company develops and exploits new screening methods with the ultimate objective to develop new drugs and synthetic vaccines.
