General description: Esther LECHNER is actually “research ingenieur” at IBMP-CNRS Institute (France). She obtained her PhD in 2003 at the University of Strasbourg (France) working on the functional characterization of different subunits of the Arabidopsis SCF complex, an Ubiquitin E3 ligase. After her PhD, she started a postdoctorat at the INDIANA University (USA) in the laboratory of Mark Estelle where she studied the role of ubiquitin-dependant proteolysis in the phytohormone auxin signaling. In 2005, Esther Lechner obtained a permanent research position at IBMP-CNRS in Pascal Genschik’s laboratory to study the role of proteolysis in hormonal signaling pathways in plants.
