General description:
The University of Konstanz was founded in 1966 and is located at the shore of Lake Constance. The Dept. of Biology is embedded in the Faculty of Sciences (Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology). It is involved in the education of approx. 650 students at the undergraduate (BSc) and graduate (MSc, PhD) level. The research interests of the members of the Dept. can be grouped into three major areas: basic molecular and cell biology with particular emphasis on membrane proteins, biomedical research including pharmacology and toxicology, and ecology / limnology.
